Thoughts on “diets”

At my heaviest I weighed 288lbs. I have been heavy/thin more times then I can count. My transformation is WAY more then just physical. I remember worrying about the way I looked in a bathing suit at the beach, and spent most of the day self conscious under a beach towel....as a result I missed playing and being in the ocean more with my kids. I was so tired, unmotivated and UNCOMFORTABLE in my own skin.

Are you tired of dieting and then “falling off the wagon” only to gain it all back....and then some? Are you unable to maintain restrictive diets!? Missing out on social activities? I was too!! You have to find a way that you can eat for the rest of your life....not a “diet” that you do for a few months that you cannot sustain! Yes, every “diet” out there can help you WILL lose weight because you are in a calorie deficit. The glitch is....can you realistically eat that way for the rest of your life? ....because if you can’t, you WILL gain that weight back! You do not have to drink shakes, eliminate carbs or be on some restrictive crazy diet. You can STILL get that calorie deficit by making healthier choices. While I’m not a vegan, I do eat mostly plant based (the options are endless)....that’s just what works for me....now that I’m maintaining (or as I call it taking care of my body) I eat that way 80/20. While actively losing weight it was 90/10!

If you’re saying you’re too old, too busy, overweight, haven’t workout in years........you CAN do it with consistency and starting with one thing at a time. (Cut out fast/fried foods, processed sugar, juices/sodas......one little change at a time.....in this case slow and steady wins the race....just START. Don’t miss out on life because you’re not comfortable with yourself! You’ve got this! .
