Possible Reasons why You are not losing weight!

People give me wild ā€œreasonsā€ why they are not losing weight.

(Weight loss is not JUST to look a certain way, it can improve a plethora of health and medical issues)

Weight loss: IT IS SCIENCEā€¦..not my opinionā€¦..we lose weight by being in a small calorie deficit.

A few reasons why you may not be losing weight:

Eating a random number of calories instead of YOUR calorie deficit number. Every human requires a different number of calories to lose, maintain and gain weight. There is no ā€œone size fits all number to lose (like 1200 calories šŸ˜³šŸ™„) ā€œ

Eating in a calorie surplus or maintenance (aka eating too many calories) ā€¦.so you are either maintaining your current weight, or gaining.

You are using exercise so that you can eat more. Your activity level is already factored into your deficit, so if you workout and burn 500 caloriesā€¦..then you allow yourself to eat 500 extra caloriesā€¦..you are no longer in your 500 calorie deficit and back in maintenance.

Lack of consistency. The weekend fun time, the lunches or dinners out. Eating the kids extras, snacking at the office, etcā€¦ā€¦.

Not counting your coffee drinks, creamers, oils, dressings etc. it all adds up!

If you have hormone, or other medical issuesā€¦.I totally validate you! I know itā€™s more difficult, but definitely still doable! Once you manage your issues one still needs to be in a calorie deficit in order to lose weight.

If you are in a plateau-you have to keep readjusting your calorie deficit to your new weight (as your go down in weight, so does the amount of calories you eat)
